Today was the memorial for a Guy I used to work with. Guy was a middle-aged rebel and a damn nice person. He had a major heart operation before I came to work at the Reno Gazette-Journal in Spring '97. He was told he only had so many years on the bypass. A few weeks back, the warranty expired. I remember him as someone who always had time to listen. I didn't go to his memorial, but I'm sure it was crowded. I don't think many people realize the price so many writers pay ...
